Until We Meet Again [Easter]

...

At the last supper, Jesus sat with His 12 disciples and He shared communion with them for the first time. He explained to the disciples that the communion represented the sacrifice He would soon make.

From Matthew 26:29 He said to His disciples "But I tell you, I will not drink from this fruit of the vine from now on until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father's kingdom."

The kingdom that Jesus is referring to in this verse is the kingdom that God will create on this earth one day. Jesus is waiting to sit with the disciples once again in His Father's kingdom, and we have that same opportunity.

In Ephesians 2:4-6 it is written "But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love that He had for us, made us alive with Christ even though we were dead in trespasses. You are saved by grace! He also raised us up with Him and seated us with Him in the Heavens in Jesus Christ."

Through Jesus' sacrifice on the cross, we have the opportunity to spend eternity in Heaven, seated with Him. Jesus and His sacrifice on the cross is the bridge between us and the Father and we can be with Him for eternity if we accept His gift. Jesus died on the cross so that we never have to leave that table.
