With Thanksgiving coming up this week we tend to start thinking about the things that we are thankful for. The words "thanks" or "thanksgiving" are mentioned 72 times throughout the Bible. One verse in particular stands out to me. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 says:

 "Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus."

We can have an attitude of Thanksgiving all year long in all that we do. We can give thanks to the Lord during communion. Communion is a time to remember and reflect on Christ's sacrifice on the cross for us. The Lord loved us so much that He sent His son to die on the cross for our sins. He paid the price so we do not have to. We now have the opportunity to spend eternity in Heaven with the Lord. Let's remember and give thanks for what Christ has done for us as we go into communion time.
