You Can't Do It Alone

08.06.23

Summer staff is a great reminder to me that we can not do life alone. We are made for community and to help each other. This got me thinking about how we can not do eternal life alone either.          Romans 3: 23-24 says:

"For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. They are justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus."

We as sinners will not be getting into Heaven by our own doing. Ephesians 2:8-9 says:

"For you are saved by grace through faith, and this is not from ourselves; it is God's gift- not from works, so that no one can boast."

So instead, a sacrifice was made. Jesus was sacrificed on the cross because the Lord loves us so much. He not only wants us to spend eternity with Him in Heaven one day but He also wants a relationship with us right now. Jesus' sacrifice on the cross makes that possible. We can't achieve eternal life on our own, but we shouldn't want to because there is a loving God that wants to have a relationship with us now.
