A Clean Slate

01.01.23

The phrase "New Year's Day" can spark an idea in most of our minds. New year's resolutions, New year's new me, or a fresh start. For me, it is a fresh start or a clean slate. I thrive off of the idea of starting a new beginning without any flaws. But unfortunately, that slate can become blemished quite quickly by sin. That can become frustrating and discouraging if you wait 365 days to start again, especially if you messed up on January 1st. The more I thought about the new year and a new start I remembered that we all get the opportunity to start fresh every day with a clean slate. And there is only one way that we can have this opportunity: through Jesus' sacrifice on the cross. His blood wipes the slate clean when we accept Him as our savior and into our hearts. His sacrifice on the cross was an act of love for us; our sins can be forgiven because of it. So let's remember that our fresh start can be any day or time of the year. We don't have to wait another 365 days for a fresh start because a truly clean slate can only come from Jesus and He is waiting for us to accept Him
