Craving Connections

02.18.24

We as humans crave connection. It is an essential part of how God made us. We seek a connection with others and with the Lord. I recently read the book Find Your People by Jennie Allen. I highly recommend this book and it is in our church library. It basically broke down our need for human connection, how the Lord made us this way, and how to seek a community while glorifying the Lord. This got me thinking about our connection with the Lord. Our soul craves to be known by the One who truly knows us. The Lord knitted you together in your mother's womb and He knows your innermost thoughts and desires.

The Lord knows us because He made us but we can know Him through Jesus. John 14: 6 says:

"Jesus told him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me'"

The Lord sent His one and only son to earth in the form of a baby to grow up and make connections with the people of that time. He sent Him to die for our sins on the cross so that here in Harrisburg in 2024 we may know Him and have a relationship with Him. Let us reflect on this sacrifice and the connection that we can have with the Lord as we go into communion.
