Today for communion I want to talk about how valuable Christ's sacrifice on the cross is. It can be so easy in our world today to focus on the monetary value of the things around us. Everything has a set price and therefore a set value.

1 Peter 1:18 says:

 "For you know that God paid a ransom to save you from the empty life you inherited from your ancestors. And it was not paid with mere gold or silver, which lose their value. It was the precious blood of Christ, the sinless, spotless Lamb of God."

The things of this world will lose their value and not have any meaning. Our valuables here on earth will not save us. They will not give us eternal life or a relationship with the Father. Only the precious blood of Jesus Christ can do those things. Let us remember this as we go into communion.
