As the holidays have wrapped up and life is back into its routine I can think back to my travels and the time I spent away from home. As much as I love to travel, I love to be home even more. By the end of any vacation, I am sure a lot of us can say "I am ready to go home." I think God puts that yearning in all of us, but not for our home here on Earth but rather our home in Heaven with Him. Philippians 3:20 says:

"But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior there, the Lord Jesus Christ"

The Savior mentioned in this verse is the same Savior who died on the cross for our sins. The same Savior that we recognize during communion when we eat the bread and drink the juice. Accepting His gift of eternal life through His sacrifice on the cross is His invitation to us all. Because of His sacrifice, we all have the opportunity to come home.
