This upcoming week is the first week of school for many students and teachers. This reminds me of one of the many names that Jesus went by which is teacher. Every time we open the Bible we can learn about Jesus' teachings. Jesus taught us by His actions and by His sacrifice. 

Matthew 4:23 says: 

"Jesus was going throughout all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every kind of disease and every kind of sickness among the people."

 Jesus taught us what sacrificial love is by dying on the cross. He gave up His own life because He loves us so much. He has called all of us to go love others well with this sacrificial love by our actions, words, and attitude. 

Matthew 28:19-20 says:

"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” 

This upcoming school year let us remember that we have been taught through Jesus' sacrifice how to love others as Christ does and we have been called to teach others that. So whether you are a school teacher or student, or this is just another week at work for you, we are all called to teach others what Jesus has done.
